Lightweight and with excellent thermal insulation properties, foam concrete is ideal for use in the construction of flat-roofs.
These images show 1100 kg/m3 5 N/mm2 foam concrete being placed on the roof of a hospital in Gloucester. Once the foam concrete had cured, a mastic covering was applied, to make it waterproof.
Foam concrete can also be used successfully in smaller domestic flat-roof applications.
